Main Settings
-
Name - Each Device should have a name associated with it to make it easier to remember what the device is used for. Duplicate names are allowed but may cause user confusion.
-
Type - This is the model type of the Device. Choose from the drop down list. This Type should match the model of the actual Device as some functions may only be available with certain Device types. If your device is not on the list, then choose the closest type and most commands should work. If you have an unsupported device type then please contact us at support@applette.com and we will let you know if we can support it in a future version. For more information on supported device types please see here
-
Phone Number - This is the phone number of the Device. Try to use the international 'plus' format (e.g. UK number 012345678 is entered as +4412345678) if possible as this will ensure that the Device will work in any region. If your cellular carrier doesn't support international dialing please set the 'Allow no International Code' in Application Settings and enter the number in local in-country format. Devices are registered and indexed in the database by their phone number. Duplicates are not allowed. If you edit this field after the Device has been setup then you will be asked if you want to create a new Device with the changed number.
-
Password - Each Device must have a 6 digit password associated with it (the default is 123456). The password in the application database MUST match the one in the device. It is recommended that when setting up a new device that the default password is used to setup and confirm basic operation. Once device operation is confirmed the password should be changed using the Password Change option to ensure security. You can set the password in TKMon to match your Device by changing the password in the password change screen and selecting the 'Database Only' option. It is strongly recommended that a separate note of all Device passwords be kept in case the Phone is lost/broken and the database is no longer available. If you forget the password then the Device may require to have its firmware re-set by the manufacturer.
-
Default Trip - Associates a trip with this Device. This trip's settings will be used whenever the map is displayed for this Device.
-
Time Zone - Set this value to your current Device time zone. Any value from plus or minus 14 is allowed but not all devices may allow this to be set. e.g. To set a time zone of GMT -5:30 use a setting of -5.5
-
Imei - The imei of the Device may be entered manually or can be requested from the Device by clicking the 'Read from Tracker' button. This will send an SMS to the device to request its imei - not all devices will respond to this command.
-
Icon - This sets an icon to display with the device. Click on the icon to change it. The icon can be chosen from any of the pictures on the phone.
Remember! Any changes made on this screen Must be saved with the Save button.
Additional Settings
-
Track & Alarm - Allows Setting up of Tracking and Movement alarms.
-
Admin Numbers - Allows setting up & editing of the authorised numbers that the Device will respond to.
-
Entry: (1-5) - Click on an entry slot to either edit(add) or delete the entry. - Entries should normally use the '+' international code format but some clones/carriers occasionally don't allow this so you may need to try with just the normal in-country number. Numbers that have been inserted/deleted and are pending confirmation from the Device are shown in the Ins/Del Pend: fields.
-
-
GPRS - Allows configuration of a GPRS Server and Cellular Carrier APN & SD Card settings.
-
IP Address - The fixed IP address of the server that the device will send its position updates to. (This is usually supplied by whichever GPRS tracking service you are subscribed to.)
-
IP Port Number - The port address to use to access the above server. (This is usually supplied by whichever GPRS tracking service you are subscribed to.)
-
APN - The Access Point Name required by your Device's cellular carrier to allow access to their GPRS network. Note: Each carrier uses different settings and often there is a difference between Pay Monthly and Pay As You Go settings. Check with your Device's cellular carrier for the correct details.
-
APN User ID - User ID required to access the APN above - Not all carriers need this - Leave blank of not used.
-
APN Password - Password required to access the APN above - Not all carriers need this - Leave blank of not used.
-
Log position data to SD Card - Allows GPRS position data to be logged to the internal SD Card if the GPRS Server is not available.
-
Send SD data to server - Sends any stored data to the GPRS Server when it is available.
-
-
Extra Options - Allows setting of the following options: Check your Device documentation to see which of these are applicable. For more information on the tracker types and commands please see here
-
Send SMS to confirm Tracking cancel - Sends an explicit cancel (notn/nofix) command when the requested number of tracking messages has been received. Some Devices may randomly repeat tracking sequences later (which can generate additional costs) unless they receive this command.
- Send SMS to Cancel SOS Alarm - Sends an SMS to explicitly cancel the Device SOS status. Some devices will continue to repeat the SOS alert message until they receive this command - others only send in one SOS alert and do not require an explicit cancel
- Show cell tower on map - Show position & range (if available) of the current cell tower that your Device is using as an overlay on the map. This is shown as a magenta circle centered on the cell tower position. The extent of the circle is the approximate range of the cell tower. If the circle boundary is a dashed line then the range is estimated.
- Cancel Movement alarms explicitly - Sends an explicit SMS message to cancel in incoming movement alarm. Some trackers will continue to sent the alarm message until it is explicitly cancelled.
- Move allows radius - Allows you to send a specific radius for the move alarm. Some trackers allow this parameter others have a fixed radius defined in the firmware.
-
- Stockade setup uses lat, lon;lat, lon - Select this if your Device requires the Stockade setup command to send the top/left and bottom/right points with the latitude before the longitude. Most Xexun devices require the longitude before the latitude for some bizarre reason. Many clones need this option.
- Stockade setup allows E1 E2 - Select this if your Device requires an extra parameter to define whether the stockade is internal or external.
- Time Zone allows hour fractions - Select this if your device allows the time zone to be set in increments smaller than one hour. When you change the time zone you can use decimal numbers to represent parts of an hour (e.g. 0.5 = 30 minutes 0.25 = 15 minutes etc.)
- Time Zone uses 'zone' command - Select this if your device uses 'zone' rather than 'time zone' command to set the time zone
- Tracking limit is On/Off only - Select this if your device has a fixed auto tracking drift limit. Some trackers allow you to set a value, others have a fixed value
- Use 'at000000sum000' for Tracking - Select this if your Device uses 'at'/'noat' instead of 't'/'notn' as its commands for setting/clearing auto tracking.
- Use 'fix000s000n' for Tracking - Select this if your Device uses 'tn'/'notn' instead of 't'/'notn' as its commands for setting/clearing auto tracking.
- Use 'tn<pwd> 000 00000' for Tracking - Select this if your Device uses 'fix'/'nofix' instead of 't'/'notn' as its commands for setting/clearing auto tracking.
- Use 'GPRS/SMS' to set/cancel GPRS mode - Use this if your device requires separate 'GPRS'/'SMS' commands rather than using the ADMINIP command to switch between GPRS & SMS modes.
- Use 'save/load/clear' for SD Card access - Select this if your tracker uses these commands rather than the 'readsd'/'sdlog' commands save/recall position data from the SD Card.
- Use 'sensitivity' for vibration setting - Select this if your Device has a separate 'sensitivity' command to set the vibration alarm value.
- Use 'shock' for vibration alarm - Select this if your Device uses the 'shock' command rather than 'shake' to set the vibration alarm value.
- Use Signed GPS Coordinates - Select this if your Device uses positive and negative numbers for its latitude & longitude. Leave this clear if the device uses only positive numbers with a N,S,E,W suffix. Many clones need this option.
- Use 'APN' to set UserId/Pwd in GPRS mode - Select this if your device uses 'APN' rather than APNUSER and APNPASSWD to set APN userId and password settings.
- Use 'UP' to set UserId/Pwd in GPRS mode - Select this if your device uses 'UP' rather than APNUSER and APNPASSWD to set APN userId and password settings.
